Moon Rise

Bentonite is an absorbent swelling clay consisting mostly of montmorillonite. It usually forms from weathering of volcanic ash in seawater. The Bentonite Hills appear as softly-contoured, banded hills in varying hues of brown, red, purple, gray, and green.
